Iran’s short film ‘Umbra’ heads to Spain

Iran’s short ‘Umbra’ is to compete at the Mikrofilm Short Festival in Spain.

Iran’s short ‘Umbra’ has been set to compete at the Mikrofilm Short Festival in Spain this July.

‘Umbra’ directed by Saeed Jafarian will participate at the 8th edition of the Spanish gala.

The film is about a young woman who realizes a few minutes after midnight that she is alone. She goes out worried in the darkness of streets.

The short film is currently participating at the underway Kyiv International Film Festival "Molodist" in Ukraine.

‘Umbra’ has previously participated at the Cinéfondation section of the 71st Cannes Film Festival, the 2018 Vila do Conde film festival in Portugal, the 17th Silhouette Film Festival in France, the 42nd Toronto International Short Film Festival in Canada, the 2018 Batumi International Art House Film Festival in Georgia, the 37th Uppsala International Short Film Festival in Sweden, the 14th MEDFILM Festival in Italy, the 20minmax International Short Film Festival in Germany, and the Brussels Short Film Festival in Belgium.

‘Umbra’ has also attended the 27th St. Louis Film Festival, the 10th San Joaquin International Film Festival, and the 2018 AFI FEST, all in the US.

The 8th Mikrofilm Short Festival will take place in the Spanish city of Bilbao on July 26-28, 2019.
